    Contact us now! Meet Our Team Alice Douglas Business Development (Director) alice@htl.nz With sawdust in the veins, Alice is 4th generation in the timber industry. Alice's timber species knowledge and how timber performs and behaves is hard to beat - and she is happy to share it. ​ Alice runs across several areas of HTL - her favorite being engaging with existing and new clients on projects and supply needs. ​ Away from the office, you will find her writing, recording and performing her own songs, as well as spending time with her young family in the campervan - her happy place! Jason Douglas Managing Director jason@htl.nz Jason is the entrepreneurial driving force that has propelled HTL to quadruple in size over the past 7 years. ​ Jason's ability to think outside the square and far into the future sees him tackle many opportunities and challenges to create a thriving business enterprise for his whole team to grow with. ​ Mechanically minded, Jason also thrives on commissioning machinery in a matter of hours. ​ When he's not sorting a deal, Jason is tinkering with his many mechanical projects. Built with a sense of adventure, you'll also find him fishing, hunting, and traveling in the campervan with his young f amily. Russell Melrose General Manager russell@ htl.nz Russell has been with HTL for over 10 years. Russell's timber knowledge ranges from sawmill production, right through to installing the finished product. Russell has operated every single machine in every single department at HTL and is very mechanically minded. He builds great rapport quickly with his team, suppliers and customers. ​ Outside of work, Russell enjoys all types of fishing, hunting and spending time with friends and his young family. Anand Nair Production Foreman production@ htl.nz Anand has been with HTL for over three years. Anand runs the H3.1 LOSP Treatment administration, supports Russell in production, and handles all health and safety onsite. Picking up new skills easily, Anand has attention to detail and a great sense of humor. Anand has many years experience within the industry working with timber products from start to finish. ​ When not on site, Anand loves to travel all around NZ and takes amazing travel photos and videos.     FAQ We've answered some frequently asked questions by our customers below, and have them here for your convenience. If you need more information or if your question is more specific, please feel free to be in touch via the inquiry form at the bottom of the page or through email at sales@htlgroup.co.nz . Do you have _____ in stock? We carry NPI LVL and H-LAM at all standard sizes/lengths and regularly have stock available. For specialty timbers and other products our stock availably changes often - for these it would be best to reach out to our team or post an inquiry. What work can we do? HTL specialise in engineered timber products, however we do a wide range of work from domestic and hobby projects, all the way to mass timber structures and commercial builds. If it involves timber, we can assist! Are there freight costs? For orders over $2,000 we have free freight into store through all of the merchants we sell through. Please keep in mind there may be additional freight charges if your order is overlength (6.6m+) or if there are other circumstances/requirements. What are your stock dispatch times? Please reference the tables below for dispatch times on current stock of LVL and H-LAM. These are dispatch lead times from our yard and will be booked on freight within the stated times, however we cannot adjust for the lead times of freight companies. These are stock dependent and may change due to stock and/or species availability. Got a question?     Contact us now! History Four Generations of Timber ​ ​2006 - Starting out in specialised timber supply, Halswell Timber Nelson Ltd was founded by Peter and Barbara Stuart, with the energy of son and daughter duo Matthew and Alice Stuart. 2012 - Jason and Alice Douglas bought the business and continued expanding machining capabilities. 2015 - Russ Sawmilling in Appleby was purchased, adding to supply chain control. 2016 - A move from Tahunanui to Richmond brought with it the additional product lines of GluLam, LVL, and H3.1 LOSP treatment. This gave way to the HTL branded trade name, focused on supplying merchant trade stores across NZ with specialised engineered wood products.
